Brian combines 15 years as a Fire Department Captain/Paramedic with his credentials as a Family Nurse Practitioner, bringing extensive experience treating adolescent mental health crises in emergency settings. As founder and administrator of Horizon Recovery, he leverages his Master’s in Business Leadership and Ethics to develop evidence-based teen treatment programs that blend clinical excellence with empathetic care. His firsthand understanding of mental health challenges among first responders drives his mission to create comprehensive support systems for struggling teens and their families.

Patrick Buehl
Executive Director

Patrick combines over 30 specialized certifications in behavioral health with his role as Executive Director of Horizon Recovery, where he oversees comprehensive adolescent treatment programs with a focus on holistic, individualized care. His personal journey through mental health challenges informs his empathetic leadership approach and commitment to implementing evidence-based therapeutic practices for teens. As Executive Director, he maintains active engagement with clients and staff while coordinating with clinical experts to ensure treatment plans effectively blend clinical excellence with compassionate, personalized support for each young person in their care.

MD, MBA /Medical Director

Dr. Mona Amini brings her board certification in psychiatry and extensive C-suite leadership experience to her role as medical director, where she specializes in adolescent mental health and behavioral addiction treatment. Her prominent positions with the American Psychiatric Association and past presidency of the Arizona Psychiatric Society demonstrate her authority in advancing mental healthcare standards and advocacy. Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr. Amini’s co-founding of the AZ Psychiatric Society’s Women’s Group reflects her commitment to fostering inclusive, evidence-based mental health treatment while mentoring the next generation of psychiatric professionals.
