Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

What is the goal of a partial hospitalization program (PHP)?

Partial hospitalization is an outpatient psychiatric and addiction treatment program where patients participate in various therapies throughout the day without having to stay in a facility overnight.

It is one part of our full continuum of care, which also includes:

  • Inpatient Residential Treatment
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
  • Outpatient Therapy

What is the difference between PHP and IOP?

The difference between PHP and IOP comes down to the intensity of time commitment to therapeutic treatment, partial hospitalization requiring more dedicated time throughout the week than an intensive outpatient plan.

As your child transitions out of a residential treatment program, PHP ensures that they get the level of care they need to maintain sobriety and positive mental health while living at home.
